Mercile J. Lee Hackathon Confirmation and Logistics

Hi Everyone,

We are about one week away from the Mercile J. Lee Hackathon! We are excited to have you join us and we can’t wait to see what you create.

Below is everything you need to know to prepare for a successful weekend.

📍 Where to Be (Physical Attendance) This is an in-person event. Being together in the same room is where the best collaboration happens!

  • Venue: Hello, World @ Morgridge Hall (1205 University Ave, Madison, WI).

  • Room: 1st floor, right near the main stairs.

  • Check-in: Saturday, February 7th at 3:00 PM.

  • Submission: Sunday, February 8th at 3:00 PM

  • Winners Announced: Sunday, February 8th at 4:30 PM

If you decided to leave the building at night please be aware that the building may be locked!

🤝 Teams & The "10-Minute Networking" Phase Don’t worry if you don’t have a full team yet! We will finalize everything at the start of the event.

  • Finding Teammates Before: You’ll have this time to meet other scholars, share your interests and lock in your teammates through our discord if you please: https://discord.gg/22achYYa.

đź’» Tools & Resources

  • AI Power-Ups: We highly recommend using Cursor (the AI code editor) for this event. It’s an incredible tool for building quickly, and students can often get access to the Pro features via their GitHub Student Developer Pack.

  • Discord: If you haven't joined yet, jump into our server now to find teammates and see resource pins: https://discord.gg/22achYYa.

  • Devpost: This is where you will submit your projects. Make sure your profile is set up and you are registered for the "Mercile J. Lee Hackathon" on the platform.

🍕 Food & "Hacker" Wellness

  • Fuel: We will have food, snacks, and drinks provided throughout the event to keep you going!

  • Sleep is a Feature: While this is a hackathon, we strongly encourage everyone to go home and sleep at night. A fresh brain writes better code. We’ll kick things off again on Sunday morning.

Get your laptops ready and we’ll see you next Saturday!

Best,

Vincent Philavong
